A*STAR's Innovation & Enterprise Group oversees the innovation and enterprise aspects of research activities through various A*STAR and National Platform (NP) units. National Platforms are funded by RIE and is given a mandate to organize the best in the eco-system to support research and translate research outcomes into products, processes and services that generate economic and societal impact for Singapore.
The National Platform Coordinating Office (NPCO) oversees multiple NPs that span across the 4 RIE Domains (Manufacturing Trade and Connectivity; Human, Health and Potential; Urban Solutions and Sustainability; and Smart Nation and Digital Economy) and 2 RIE Horizontals (Innovation & Enterprise; and Manpower). The NPs covers technology themes that are strategic priorities to Singapore. Some examples are Low Carbon Energy Research, Quantum, Semiconductor & Microelectronics, Additive Manufacturing, Experimental Drug Development. NPCO ensures good governance of the NPs and is responsible for developing and implementing NP-wide policies and operations to support the NPs in delivering on its objectives and key results.
We are recruiting highly motivated individuals to join the NPCO Team in the Innovation & Enterprise Group. You should have a passion to support R&D activities to deliver good economic and societal outcomes. You should be proactive and self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently and in a team setting, and possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to coordinate engagements with the A*STAR senior management and across a wide range of RIE ecosystem stakeholders such as the National Research Foundation (NRF), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), other Ministries responsible for the RIE Domains, as well as the various industry clusters in the A*STAR Innovation & Enterprise Group and National Platforms. The role will provide a unique perspective of the strategic priorities of the various National Platforms. Responsibilities
As part of NPCO team, the incumbent will:

Monitor the strategies at the National Platforms to ensure they stay on course in meeting its respective national mandates.

Assist in the examination of complex variation requests from NPs and securing of support from relevant stakeholders in A*STAR and MTI/NRF.

Act as an intermediary for the National Platforms. This includes helping to develop and manage their relationships with public sector agencies, and to coordinate between the National Platforms and A*STAR stakeholders.

Implement and ensure good governance at each National Platform including the recommendation of NP Governing Bodies' composition.

Monitor funding and budgetary matters related to the National Platforms.

Perform grant management functions where necessary for grants awarded to the National Platforms.

Monitor and ensure the timely reporting of KPIs and updates to the various internal and external platforms.
Job Requirements

At least 5 years of working experience in cross-disciplinary teams and engagement of multiple stakeholders will be preferred. Familiarity with the local Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) ecosystem is a requirement

Relevant working experience in the public sector will be an advantage but not required
