Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and talented Senior Scientist/Scientist to join our optical clock development team. This position focuses on supporting the research, design, and development of optical atomic clocks, with an emphasis on ultra-high vacuum (UHV) chamber design and construction for cold atom systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing precision measurement technologies and contributing to cutting-edge research.
The successful applicant will join our Time & Frequency Laboratory and contribute to projects aimed at redefining the SI Second. Key responsibilities include:

Working in the design and assembly of UHV chambers for cold atom or ion-based optical clock systems.

Conducting experiments to evaluate and validate clock performance and stability.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support the integration of optical clock technologies into broader systems and applications.

Staying informed on the latest advancements in optical clock research and applying these insights to ongoing projects.

Maintaining compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the development process.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on optical clock technology or atomic physics.
- Experience with UHV systems or experimental setups for cold atoms or ion traps is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental setups.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic research environment.
