The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) is seeking an accomplished and visionary scientist to join us as a Principal Investigator in the field of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) modeling. This position is aimed at strengthening IMCB?s research in regenerative medicine, disease modeling, and human cell-based systems with relevance to vascular development, function, and disease.
We are looking for a principal investigator with a strong international reputation, a track record of scientific leadership, and demonstrated success in securing competitive funding. The successful candidate will lead a high-impact research programme and contribute to IMCB?s strategic priorities in advancing human model systems and translational biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an independent research programme in iPSC-based modeling of kidney biology
- Develop novel stem cell-derived platforms for studying human renal system and their interactions with other cell types or organs (e.g. brain, liver, tumor microenvironment)
- Translate disease models into platforms for target discovery, therapeutic screening, or biomarker identification
- Secure external research funding from national and international sources
- Supervise and mentor a research team, including students and postdoctoral fellows
- Build collaborative links with partners across A*STAR, academia, hospitals, and industry
Qualifications and Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, or a related field
- At least 8?10 years of postdoctoral and/or independent PI experience in stem cell biology, kidney biology, or regenerative medicine
- Internationally recognised track record of high-impact publications and scientific leadership
- Proven success in securing competitive research funding and building productive research teams
- Strong commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary research and mentoring
